About me

I began my journey with Mindfulness in 2013 whilst working in the NHS (I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1997) in a role of deputy manager for an alcohol day service. At the time it was one of those things that was beginning to take momentum in healthcare and the Trust for which I worked. I was inquisitive and wanted to learn more about it and if it could be used with the client group I was working with.

So it began – I trained in MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression). As I completed the training the service I worked for went through a retendering process in which it lost the contract for the provision it provided. I was TUPEd over to the organisation who won the contract – A Charity in Nottingham.

They embraced my passion for Mindfulness and so I began to teach Mindfulness to the client group (those with substance misuse problems) in my work roll. Roll on several years and I continued to work for the Charity as a Team Leader and Team Manager offering Mindfulness to the Staff of the organisation – where I have run several MBCT courses.

I have since provided Mindfulness for a church group and local women’s choir virtually – whilst in lockdown.

I completed a course Teaching Mindfulness Intuitively with Surrycitta and Gaynor in 2022/23. EDIT
